Thank you for checking out my site.
I’ve only recently started calling myself an artist, despite being quite artistic and expressive throughout various stages of my life.
As a child I remember crafting elaborate “let’s entertain the parents” productions with my friends and family which included bad singing, bad music and even worse choreography...but they were still creative.
As a teen and through college my art was more aimed towards becoming a rock star with long hair wearing leggings and makeup like the hair bands of the 80’s. I’m not sure if the guitar was meant to meet girls, or if I just needed to rock as a calling. Either way, music was in my soul and my love of songwriting exists to this day.
After college my art led me more down the digital path. My career was in software development. Coding is creativity. The art would sometimes be what I thought (designing a system), sometimes what I said (how I presented technical concepts), sometimes what I designed or built (the actual creation).
When digital photography finally made its way to the mainstream, I rediscovered a love for taking photos. My sister-in-law and I created a photography business. Creating content specifically to bring out emotion (commercial work, family portraits, wedding and event photography).
Creativity has always been a part of me, but I never called myself an artist.
So why now? Because recently I realized I've always been one. I don’t know where my next song, painting, photograph, or product idea is coming from, but being open to accept the ideas when they flow is the role of the artist. I’m going to keep creating.
I hope my art makes you feel something (you’ll laugh, you’ll cry...it will become a part of you).
Like it, love it, I'll make some more of it.
